An Xperience Like No Other

AICC Innovation and Technology Committee Conversation: Why AI is Important to Us and AICC

Welcome to our panel discussion with individuals from box plants who are on the AICC Innovative and Technology Committee. These industry experts will explore the transformative potential of AI in the packaging industry. Discover key insights, strategies, and best practices for bringing AI to optimize operations, enhance efficiency, and stay ahead of the competition. Don't miss this opportunity to future-proof your business and thrive in the age of AI.

Go Jump in the Lake

This session is not just about AI; it's about creating Industry 4.0 to free up data that AI can use. Bay Cities is constructing a data warehouse to tag and organize the data before putting it into a Data Lake. This enhances the data’s usability, discoverability, and reliability. This marks the initial step for a practical AI implementation for immediate decision-making.

The Simulation Century and the AI Readiness Index

More than a year after the bump in the night (Nov 30, 2022) when ChatGPT was born, we are still wrestling with the impact of large language models (LLMs) and other machine learning applications. It is important that every organization determines the right balance between machine and human intelligence and make an effort to optimize outcomes. In this session, you will learn how to self-assess your readiness to adopt AI beginning with low-level RPA (robotic process automation), LLMs, knowledge graphs and higher order machine learning functions. Case studies will discuss real life implementations with 10x and greater returns on investment to help guide you and your organization in your AI Road Map planning process. How much AI should you bring to your enterprise, or are you better off waiting?

The Elephant in the Room, Industry 4.0/5.0

A high-level overview of why new technology including artificial intelligence and Industry 4.0/5.0 tools will change the world of box manufacturing and are key to delivering improved profitability, higher levels of customer satisfaction and a more sustainable production process. Is that even possible?

Getting Your Data Ready to Leverage AI

Dive into a pivotal aspect of our industry's evolution: the intersection of AI and manufacturing data.  As members of the AICC community, we're all aware of the power and potential of artificial intelligence. Yet, the key isn't just embracing AI; it's about ensuring that our data, the lifeblood of AI, is primed and structured to fuel its capabilities. The presentation will shift focus from the complexities of AI technology to a broader vision, understanding how our data's structure and how it is connected, collected and stored are the catalysts for AI-driven innovation in our industry.

Applying AI to Reduce Unplanned Downtime

One of the more immediate value propositions that AI can bring to the operational side of a box plant is in helping to improve efficiency. AI is not a cure all and it is not easy. But it can be very effective. This presentation will cover actions that every box plant owner can take today; what are some key considerations for every software or machinery purchase going forward; and how to rely on both suppliers and your internal teams to integrate new technology. Doing so can reap what could be up to 30% more output compared to what your machines and team achieve today.

Best Applications of AI for Supply Chain Planning

AI technologies, applied in the right manner, can revolutionize the corrugated box industry by optimizing production, reducing costs, reducing greenhouse gases, and enhancing overall supply chain efficiency. These benefits collectively contribute to a more competitive, agile, and customer-focused business model.  However, AI is not a panacea, selecting where and how to apply the technology has a significant influence on maximizing the rewards.

Creating a Digital Twin

Royal Containers will share its journey in the pursuit of a digital twin to optimize processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Redefining AI in Manufacturing: The Power of Specialized Language Models Over Large Language Models

Challenge the conventional Large Language Model (LLM) approach in AI, advocating for a shift towards Specialized Language Models (SLMS) for manufacturing. This talk will explore the advantages of SLMs in handling specific tasks and data, using case studies to illustrate their effectiveness in predictive maintenance, internal communication, and process automation in manufacturing settings. In manufacturing, language models can help analyze data, optimize processes, improve quality control, predict maintenance needs, and enhance communication between machines and humans. They can also assist in generating reports, instructions, and other written documents essential for efficient operations.

Associate Panel Discussion: Understanding AI and How to Care for Your Data

AI runs on data. Our expert panelists will delve into various impacts of AI on businesses, offering valuable insights and strategies for leveraging AI and your data responsibly and effectively. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable knowledge on navigating the complexities of AI in the business world.

Building Your Own Custom Personas and Agents

This session is designed to empower you with the tools to create AI-driven personas that can streamline your daily tasks and enhance productivity within your manufacturing environment.

What You Will Learn:

  • How to create basic AI personas for different operational tasks

  • Techniques to customize these personas to suit specific functions within your plant or office

  • The potential of expanding AI integration for more complex operational needs

Requirements to Participate in the Exercise Live on Site

  • Access to a laptop to follow along with the exercise

  • A ChatGPT Free account, to apply and experiment with custom instructions

  • A Plus or higher account for accessing GPT builder tools, which we will explore during the session

The cost to sign up for ChatGPT is approximately $20 per month.  You can sign up for one month and cancel if you decide this isn’t something you want to use in your plant. A laptop will also allow you to view the site from the eyes of the presenter so you can begin to understand how it works, and what it can do for you.

Neither of these are required.  You will still learn during this exercise; you just won’t have a personal persona to take home and get started.

You'll walk away with the knowledge to implement AI personas in your daily operations and understand how these can be further developed for advanced tasks.
